I experienced domestic violence for the first time as just a young boy. Whenever it happened, Overwhelmed by fear, I hesitated to seek help and felt hopeless, believing that as a child, not yet a man, I was unable to protect the women in my family whom I love dearly. The fear and hopelessness, which no one should ever have to endure, were simply accepted as normal. Even today, they persist in our communities.

Being a father to such an amazing young man has defiantly been a journey, as many parents could relate to. I don`t have words to describe how proud I am of my son. But as hard as it`s been I wouldn`t change a thing. I definitely made a lot of mistakes along the way and far from perfect, but the hardest challenge our family faced was a diagnosis that our little boy has Tourette's . As our son grew so did his ticks and involuntary movements that were physically hurting him and making him tired after repeating the movements, tics, twitches all day/all night. I tried to stay strong for my family but it was so hard . I`m just lucky my son has the most resilient mother in the whole wide world.

​WHAT TOURETTE`S HAS PUT MY FAMILY & MANY OTHER SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FAMILYS THORUGH SUCH CHALLANGING TIMES. THAT WE AS A COMMUNITY NEED TO STAND STRONG TOGETHER TO SUPPORT ALL STRUGGLING FAMILIES. THAT FACE THE SAME CHALLENGERS. OR ANYTHING THAT AFFECTS OUR KIDS

HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.
